Dinner out in HOTLanta

The Georgia Kappa Club is putting together a night out on the town. We'll meet up and cruise downtown parade style then stop at a pre-arranged place for dinner that is yet to be determined.

Right now we need to settle on a date.

So I see a few obvious choices:
1st choice: Saturday, August 25th (Short notice, we may not have enough time to plan properly and
my Sol may be in the shop that weekend )

2nd choice: Saturday, September 1st Keeping in mind that September 1st is the beginning of Labor Day weekend. We may run into family vacation issues.

3rd choice: Saturday, September 8th This date would give me 3 weeks to pick the place, make the reservations and plan parking. And also give everyone else time to mark thier calendars.

So if everyone would respond back with thier date choice we can do a majority rules.

The 8th sounds good to me. I have a car show on the 1st of Sept in Franklin, NC and anything sooner then the 8th would be a hardship for me.

My experience with Downtown (true downtown) is not good. You will have to let me know where you plan to cruise before I will give a positive yes. That goes for dinner also, it all depends on how protected the cars will be while we are in an eating establishment???

As you can tell from my above comments, I'm not a big fan of the true "Downtown" Atlanta area. Seen to much happen there!!!!

However, knowing you, I'm sure you will take everything into consideration and make this another memorable event! Thanks for all your efforts and take care.

Frank, We'll probably just cruise down Peachtree St. then head to Buckhead which is where we are planning to have dinner. I'm trying to find a restaurant that has valet parking and see if they will let us park our own cars but in a valet area so that there will be someone watching over them while we are eating. I'll keep you posted as plans progress.

Thanks for the reply. Sounds good to me. Peachtree St is fine and Buckhead for dinner is fine if the cars are monitored and we can park them ourself. Do you find this valuable?

Another thought for a future outing.
What about a progressive dinner? They are fun and it gives members the opportunity to drive, eat and interact with other members.
The Atlanta area is so spread out we could make it an all day event and have stops along the way for site seeing or other types of activities. If your interested let me know, I would be willing to assist.

I got the impression the cruise-and-dinner (the dates for which we're voting on) and the Sept 15 Bahama Breeze dinner were separate events.

I'm going to try to work out attending the Sept 15 Bahama Breeze, but I don't think I will be able to attend a cruise this weekend (and certainly not Sept 8). So, I think count me out for the cruise.

Originally we were planning to do dinner in Buckhead with a cruise thru downtown before hand. That was scrubbed due to lack of interest. The dinner on Sept. 15th is the only event that we have planned at this time. Sorry for any misunderstandings and I do hope that everyone will try to make this. We have new members, members who have Sols and Skys on order and folks who are on the fence about buying who are planning on attending so this should turn out to be a pretty large dinner event. Please let me know if you have anymore questions and again sorry for any miscommunication.
